AFCON 2019 Qualifiers : Algeria defeats Benin 2-0
BLIDA, Oct. 12, 2018 (AMP) — Cameroon 2019 (Qualifiers) : Algeria defeated Benin by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations on Friday night at the Stade Mustapha Tchaker in Blida.
Algeria dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Bensebaini in the 20th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Algerians further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Bounedjah in the 73rd minute.
The result put the Algerians top of Group D with 7 points. Benin is second with 4 points. In their next game, Algeria will meet second-placed Benin at the Stade Mustapha Tchaker on October 16, while Benin will face Algeria.
