AFCON 2019 Qualifiers : Togo hold Gambia to 1-1
LOMé, Oct. 12, 2018 (AMP) — Cameroon 2019 (Qualifiers) : Togo tied 1-1 with Gambia (halftime: 0-1), in a qualifying game for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations on Friday afternoon at the Lomé Municipal Stadium.
The Gambians started off well by taking the lead thanks to Ceesay in the 7th minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by Togo with a saving goal from Denkey in the 84th minute.
The result put the Gambians third in Group D with 2 points. Togo is bottom with 2 points. In their next game, Gambia will meet Togo at the Lomé Municipal Stadium on October 16, while Togo will face Gambia.
