BAKAU, Oct. 16, 2018 (AMP) — Cameroon 2019 (Qualifiers) : Togo defeated Gambia by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations on Tuesday afternoon at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.
45 minutes of play and neither the Togoleses nor the Gambians have managed to pull ahead. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with a saving goal by Togolese forward Floyd Ayité seconds before the end of regulation.
The result put the Togolese third in Group D with 5 points. Gambia is bottom with 2 points. In their next game, Togo will meet group leaders Algeria at the Independence Stadium on November 18, while Gambia will face Benin.
