AFCON 2019 Qualifiers : Algeria beats Togo 4-1
LOMé, Nov. 18, 2018 (AMP) — Cameroon 2019 (Qualifiers) : Algeria defeated Togo by a score of 4-1 (halftime: 3-0), in a qualifying game for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday afternoon at the Lomé Municipal Stadium.
Riyad Mahrez scored dual goals
Algeria dominated the first half thanks to goals from Mahrez ('13, '30) and Attal ('28). Leading 3-0 at the break, the Algerians further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Bounedjah in stoppage time.
The result put the Algerians top of Group D with 10 points. Togo is bottom with 5 points. In their last game, Algeria will meet third-placed Gambia at the Lomé Municipal Stadium on March 22, while Togo will face Benin.
