AFCON 2019 Qualifiers : Algeria held to a 1-1 draw by Gambia but qualifies for 2019 AFCON
BLIDA, Mar. 22, 2019 (AMP) — Cameroon 2019 (Qualifiers) : Algeria tied 1-1 with Gambia (halftime: 1-0), in a AFCON qualifying game on Friday night at the Stade Mustapha Tchaker in Blida.
The Algerians started off well by taking the lead thanks to Algerian midfielder Mehdi Abeid in the 42nd minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by Gambia with a saving goal from Danso in the 90th minute.
Algeria secured their ticket to the AFCON finals. Gambia is eliminated.Fixtures and Results : Group D
