COTONOU, Mar. 24, 2019 (AMP) — Cameroon 2019 (Qualifiers) : Benin defeated Togo by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a AFCON qualifying game on Sunday afternoon at the Stade de l'Amitié in Cotonou.
Benin dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by forward David Djigla in the 12th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Benineses further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Mounié with just 7 minutes remaining in regulation time.
Benin secured their ticket to the AFCON finals. Togo is eliminated.Fixtures and Results : Group D
