AFCON 2019 Qualifiers : Libya beats Seychelles 5-1
CAIRO, Jun. 9, 2017 (AMP) — Cameroon 2019 (Qualifiers) : Libya defeated the Seychelles by a big score of 5-1 (halftime: 3-0), in a qualifying game for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations on Friday night at the Petro Sport Stadium in Cairo.
Libya dominated the first half thanks to goals from Saltou ('22), Benali ('26 on penalty) and Elhouni ('45). Leading 3-0 at the break, the Libyans further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Zubya '65 and Ellafi '82).
The result put the Libyans top of Group E with 3 points. In their next game, Libya will meet third-placed South Africa at the Petro Sport Stadium on September 8, while the Seychelles will face Nigeria.
