UYO, Jun. 10, 2017 (AMP) — Cameroon 2019 (Qualifiers) : South Africa defeated Nigeria by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations on Saturday afternoon at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
45 minutes of play and neither the South Africans nor the Nigerians have managed to pull ahead. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with goals by Rantie ('54) and Tau ('81).
The result put the South Africans second in Group E with 3 points. In their next game, South Africa will meet group leaders Libya at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium on September 8, while Nigeria will face the Seychelles.
