AFCON 2019 Qualifiers : Nigeria defeats Libya 4-0
UYO, Oct. 13, 2018 (AMP) — Cameroon 2019 (Qualifiers) : Nigeria defeated Libya by a big score of 4-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations on Saturday afternoon at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
Odion Ighalo scored tripple goals
Nigeria dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by forward Odion Ighalo in the 4th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Nigerians further widened their lead in the second period by scoring three times (Ighalo '57, '68 and Kalu '89).
The result put the Nigerians second in Group E with 6 points. Libya is third with 4 points. In their next game, Nigeria will meet third-placed Libya at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium on October 16, while Libya will face Nigeria.
