AFCON 2019 Qualifiers : Nigeria beats Libya 3-2
SFAX, Oct. 16, 2018 (AMP) — Cameroon 2019 (Qualifiers) : Nigeria defeated Libya by a score of 3-2 (halftime: 2-1), in a qualifying game for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations on Tuesday night at the Stade Taïeb Mhiri in Sfax.
Odion Ighalo scored dual goals
Nigeria dominated the first half thanks to goals from Ighalo ('13) and Musa ('16). Leading 2-1 at the break, the Nigerians further widened their lead in the second period with another goal by Ighalo with just 10 minutes remaining in regulation time.
The result put the Nigerians top of Group E with 9 points. Libya is third with 4 points. In their next game, Nigeria will meet second-placed South Africa at the Stade Taïeb Mhiri on November 17, while Libya will face the Seychelles.
