AFCON 2019 Qualifiers : Nigeria beats Seychelles 3-1 to qualify for 2019 AFCON
ASABA, Mar. 22, 2019 (AMP) — Cameroon 2019 (Qualifiers) : Nigeria defeated the Seychelles by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 1-1), in a AFCON qualifying game on Friday afternoon at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba.
Nigerian forward Odion Ighalo opened the score in the 35th minute on penalty, before seeing the Seychelles catch up in the 41st minute thanks to Melanie. 1-1 at half time. The Nigerians eventually won the game in the second period with two more goals by Onyekuru ('50) and Simon ('90).
Nigeria secured their ticket to the AFCON finals. Seychelles is eliminated.Fixtures and Results : Group E
