AFCON 2019 Qualifiers : Congo-Brazzaville and Zimbabwe play to a 1-1 draw
BRAZZAVILLE, Sep. 9, 2018 (AMP) — Cameroon 2019 (Qualifiers) : Congo-Brazzaville tied 1-1 with Zimbabwe (halftime: 0-1), in a qualifying game for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday afternoon at the Stade Alphonse Massemba-Débat in Brazzaville.
The Zimbabweans started off well by taking the lead thanks to Billiat in the 21st minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by Congo-Brazzaville with a saving goal from Congolese forward Thievy Bifouma in the 50th minute.
The result put the Zimbabweans top of Group G with 4 points. Congo-Brazzaville is third with one point. In their next game, Zimbabwe will meet second-placed DR Congo at the Stade Alphonse Massemba-Débat on October 13, while Congo-Brazzaville will face Liberia.
