AFCON 2019 Qualifiers : Zimbabwe defeats DR Congo 2-1
KINSHASA, Oct. 13, 2018 (AMP) — Cameroon 2019 (Qualifiers) : Zimbabwe defeated DR Congo by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations on Saturday night at the Stade des Martyrs de la Pentecôte in Kinshasa.
Zimbabwe dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Pfumbidzai in the 21st minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Zimbabweans further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Musona in the 68th minute.
The result put the Zimbabweans top of Group G with 7 points. DR Congo is second with 4 points. In their next game, Zimbabwe will meet second-placed DR Congo at the Stade des Martyrs de la Pentecôte on October 16, while DR Congo will face Zimbabwe.
