AFCON 2019 Qualifiers : Liberia beats Zimbabwe 1-0
MONROVIA, Nov. 18, 2018 (AMP) — Cameroon 2019 (Qualifiers) : Liberia defeated Zimbabwe by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday afternoon at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Stadium in Monrovia.
Zimbabwe made the Liberians doubt themselves for forty-five minutes. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with a saving goal by Liberian forward William Jebor in the 72nd minute.
The result put the Zimbabweans top of Group G with 8 points. Liberia is second with 7 points. In their last game, Zimbabwe will meet Congo-Brazzaville at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Stadium on March 24, while Liberia will face DR Congo.
