AFCON 2019 Qualifiers : Ivory Coast defeats Central African Republic 4-0
BOUAKé, Oct. 12, 2018 (AMP) — Cameroon 2019 (Qualifiers) : Ivory Coast defeated the Central African Republic by a big score of 4-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations on Friday afternoon at the Stade Bouaké.
Ivory Coast dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by French forward Jonathan Kodjia in the 26th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Ivorians further widened their lead in the second period by scoring three times (Bailly '52, Doukouré '58 and Cornet '75).
The result put the Ivorians second in Group H with 6 points. The Central African Republic is third with 3 points. In their next game, Ivory Coast will meet third-placed the Central African Republic at the Stade Bouaké on October 16, while the Central African Republic will face Ivory Coast.
