AFCON 2019 Qualifiers : Rwanda and Central African Republic tied at 2-2
BUTARE, Nov. 18, 2018 (AMP) — Cameroon 2019 (Qualifiers) : Rwanda tied 2-2 with the Central African Republic (halftime: 2-1), in a qualifying game for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday afternoon at the Stade Huye in Butare.
The Rwandans started off well by taking the lead thanks to goals by Tuyisenge ('10, '45) while the Central Africans only scored once Habibou ('27). However, even though they were leading 2-1 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by the Central African Republic with a saving goal from Central African midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia in the 90th minute.
The result put the Central Africans third in Group H with 5 points. Rwanda is bottom with 2 points. In their last game, the Central African Republic will meet group leaders Guinea at the Stade Huye on March 24, while Rwanda will face Ivory Coast.
