AFCON 2019 Qualifiers : Angola beats Mauritania 4-1
LUANDA, Oct. 12, 2018 (AMP) — Cameroon 2019 (Qualifiers) : Angola defeated Mauritania by a score of 4-1 (halftime: 2-1), in a qualifying game for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations on Friday afternoon at the Estádio 11 de Novembro in Luanda.
Mateus scored dual goals
Mauritania opened the score in the score in the 2nd minute thanks to El Hacen, before Angola regained the advantage with Mateus ('12 on penalty, '16). Leading 2-1 at the break, the Angolans further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Djalma '52 and Gelson '80).
The result put the Angolans top of Group I with 6 points. Mauritania is second with 6 points. In their next game, Angola will meet second-placed Mauritania at the Estádio 11 de Novembro on October 16, while Mauritania will face Angola.
