AFCON 2019 Qualifiers : Angola beats Burkina Faso 2-1
LUANDA, Nov. 18, 2018 (AMP) — Cameroon 2019 (Qualifiers) : Angola defeated Burkina Faso by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday afternoon at the Estádio 11 de Novembro in Luanda.
Mateus scored dual goals
Angola dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by forward Mateus in the 45th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Angolans further widened their lead in the second period with another goal by Mateus in the 57th minute.
The result put the Angolans top of Group I with 9 points. Burkina Faso is third with 7 points. In their last game, Angola will meet Botswana at the Estádio 11 de Novembro on March 22, while Burkina Faso will face Mauritania.
