AFCON 2019 Qualifiers : Egypt beats Niger 6-0
ALEXANDRIA, Sep. 8, 2018 (AMP) — Cameroon 2019 (Qualifiers) : Egypt defeated Niger by a big score of 6-0 (halftime: 3-0), in a qualifying game for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations on Saturday night at the Borg El Arab Stadium in Alexandria.
Mohamed Salah scored dual goals
Egypt dominated the first half thanks to goals from Mohsen ('13), Ashraf ('20) and Salah ('29). Leading 3-0 at the break, the Egyptians further widened their lead in the second period by scoring three times (S. Mohsen '73, Salah '86 and Elneny '90).
The result put the Egyptians top of Group J with 3 points. Niger is bottom with one point. In their next game, Egypt will meet third-placed Eswatini at the Borg El Arab Stadium on October 12, while Niger will face Tunisia.
