AFCON 2019 Qualifiers : Mozambique and Guinea-Bissau play out 2-2 draw
MAPUTO, Sep. 8, 2018 (AMP) — Cameroon 2019 (Qualifiers) : Mozambique tied 2-2 with Guinea-Bissau (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations on Saturday afternoon at the Zimpeto Stadium in Maputo.
The Mozambicans started off well by taking the lead thanks to Mozambican defender Zainadine Júnior in the 43rd minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, and despite Reginaldo goal ('90) in the second period, they could not prevent a comeback by Guinea-Bissau with goals by Embaló ('51) and Mendy ('90).
The result left both teams on top of Group K with 4 points. In their next game, Guinea-Bissau will meet third-placed Zambia at the Zimpeto Stadium on October 10, while Mozambique will face Namibia.
