AFCON 2019 Qualifiers : Zambia defeats Guinea-Bissau 2-1
LUSAKA, Oct. 10, 2018 (AMP) — Cameroon 2019 (Qualifiers) : Zambia defeated Guinea-Bissau by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations on Wednesday afternoon at the Heroes National Stadium in Lusaka.
Zambia dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Sunzu in the 17th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Zambians further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Shonga in the 52nd minute.
The result put the Bissau-Guineans second in Group K with 4 points. Zambia is third with 4 points. In their next game, Guinea-Bissau will meet third-placed Zambia at the Heroes National Stadium on October 14, while Zambia will face Guinea-Bissau.
