AFCON 2019 Qualifiers : Guinea-Bissau beats Zambia 2-1

BISSAU, Oct. 14, 2018 (AMP) — Cameroon 2019 (Qualifiers) : Guinea-Bissau defeated Zambia by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 0-1), in a qualifying game for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday afternoon at the Estádio 24 de Setembro in Bissau.

Zambia had started off well by taking the lead in the 12th minute with a goal by Shonga. Trailing 1-0 at half time, the Bissau-Guineans nonetheless manage to reverse the direction of the game by scoring twice in the second period (Piqueti '53 and Silva '61).

The result put the Bissau-Guineans top of Group K with 7 points. Zambia is bottom with 4 points. In their next game, Guinea-Bissau will meet third-placed Namibia at the Estádio 24 de Setembro on November 17, while Zambia will face Mozambique.
