PRAIA, Oct. 12, 2018 (AMP) — Cameroon 2019 (Qualifiers) : Cape Verde defeated Tanzania by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations on Friday afternoon at the Cape Verde National Stadium in Praia.
Gomes scored dual goals
Cape Verde dominated the first half thanks to goals from Gomes ('16, '23). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Cape Verdeans further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by [Stopira with just 6 minutes remaining in regulation time.
The result put the Cape Verdeans top of Group L with 4 points. Tanzania is bottom with 2 points. In their next game, Cape Verde will meet Tanzania at the Cape Verde National Stadium on October 16, while Tanzania will face Cape Verde.
