AFCON 2019 Qualifiers : Tanzania beats Cape Verde 2-0
DAR ES SALAAM, Oct. 16, 2018 (AMP) — Cameroon 2019 (Qualifiers) : Tanzania defeated Cape Verde by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations on Tuesday afternoon at the Tanzania National Main Stadium in Dar Es Salaam.
Tanzania dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Msuva in the 29th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Tanzanians further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Samatta in the 57th minute.
The result put the Tanzanians second in Group L with 5 points. Cape Verde is third with 4 points. In their next game, Tanzania will meet Lesotho at the Tanzania National Main Stadium on November 18, while Cape Verde will face Uganda.
