Champions League 2014-15 : Real Madrid beats Schalke 04 2-0

GELSENKIRCHEN, Feb. 18, 2015 (AMP) — Champions League 2014-15 : Real Madrid defeated Schalke 04 by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in the first leg of a round of 16 game on Wednesday night at the Veltins-Arena in Gelsenkirchen.

Real Madrid dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo in the 26th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, Los Blancos further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Marcelo in the 79th minute.

The second leg between Schalke 04 and Real Madrid will be played on Tuesday March 10, 2015 (kick-off: 20:45) in Madrid.
