Champions League 2015-16 : Astana hold Benfica to 2-2

ASTANA, Nov. 25, 2015 (AMP) — Champions League 2015-16 : FC Astana tied 2-2 with Benfica (halftime: 2-1), in a Champions League group stage game on Wednesday afternoon at the Astana Arena.

FC Astana players started off well by taking the lead thanks to goals by Twumasi Patrick ('19) and Anicic Marin ('31) while Benfica only scored once Jimenez Raul ('40). However, even though they were leading 2-1 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by Benfica with a saving goal from Mexican forward Jimenez Raul in the 72nd minute.

The result put Benfica top of Group C with 10 points. Astana is bottom with 3 points. In their last game, Benfica will meet second-placed Atletico Madrid at the Astana Arena on December 8, while FC Astana will face Galatasaray.
