LEVERKUSEN, Sep. 16, 2015 (AMP) — Champions League 2015-16 : Bayer Leverkusen defeated BATE Borisov by a score of 4-1 (halftime: 1-1), in a Champions League group stage game on Wednesday night at the BayArena in Leverkusen.
Hakan Çalhanoğlu scored dual goals
Bayer Leverkusen forward Admir Mehmedi opened the score in the 4th minute, before seeing BATE Borisov catch up in the 13th minute thanks to Milunovic. 1-1 at half time. Bayer Leverkusen eventually won the game in the second period with three more goals by Çalhanoğlu ('47, '76 on penalty) and Hernández ('59).
The result put Bayer top of Group E with 3 points. In their next game, Bayer Leverkusen will meet second-placed Barcelona at the BayArena on September 29, while BATE Borisov will face AS Roma.
