Champions League 2015-16 : Zenit beats Gent 2-1

SAINT PETERSBURG, Sep. 29, 2015 (AMP) — Champions League 2015-16 : Zenit St Petersburg defeated Gent by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a Champions League group stage game on Tuesday night at the Petrovsky Stadium in Saint Petersburg.

Zenit St Petersburg dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Dzyuba Artem in the 35th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the “Blue-White-Sky Blues” further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Shatov Oleg in the 67th minute.

The result put Zenit top of Group H with 6 points. Gent is third with one point. In their next game, Zenit St Petersburg will meet Lyon at the Petrovsky Stadium on October 20, while Gent will face Valencia.
