Champions League 2015-16 : Zenit beats Lyon 3-1

SAINT PETERSBURG, Oct. 20, 2015 (AMP) — Champions League 2015-16 : Zenit St Petersburg defeated Lyon by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a Champions League group stage game on Tuesday night at the Petrovsky Stadium in Saint Petersburg.

Zenit St Petersburg dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Dzyuba Artem in the 3rd minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the “Blue-White-Sky Blues” further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Hulk Givanildo '56 and Danny Gomez '82).

The result put Zenit top of Group H with 9 points. Lyon is bottom with one point. In their next game, Zenit St Petersburg will meet Lyon at the Petrovsky Stadium on November 4, while Lyon will face Zenit St Petersburg.
