Champions League 2015-16 : Zenit defeats Valencia 2-0
SAINT PETERSBURG, Nov. 24, 2015 (AMP) — Champions League 2015-16 : Zenit St Petersburg defeated Valencia by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a Champions League group stage game on Tuesday night at the Petrovsky Stadium in Saint Petersburg.
Zenit St Petersburg dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Shatov Oleg in the 15th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the “Blue-White-Sky Blues” further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Dzyuba Artem in the 74th minute.
The result put Zenit top of Group H with 15 points. Valencia is second with 6 points. In their last game, Zenit St Petersburg will meet third-placed Gent at the Petrovsky Stadium on December 9, while Valencia will face Lyon.
