Atletico beats Barcelona to advance to Champions League semifinals
MADRID, Apr. 13, 2016 (AMP) — Champions League 2015-16 : Atletico Madrid defeated Barcelona by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in the second leg of a quarterfinals on Wednesday night at the Vicente Calderon Stadium in Madrid.
Antoine Griezmann scored dual goals
Atletico Madrid dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by French midfielder Antoine Griezmann in the 36th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, Los Colchoneros further widened their lead in the second period with another goal by Griezmann on penalty with just 2 minutes remaining in regulation time.
