LISBON, Feb. 16, 2016 (AMP) — Champions League 2015-16 : Benfica defeated Zenit St Petersburg by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in the first leg of a round of 16 game on Tuesday night at the Estádio da Luz in Lisbon.

45 minutes of play and neither Benfica nor Zenit St Petersburg have managed to pull ahead. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with a saving goal by Brazilian forward Jonas Oliveira in stoppage time.

The second leg between Benfica and Zenit St Petersburg will be played on Wednesday March 9, 2016 (kick-off: 18:00) in Saint Petersburg.
