Champions League 2016-17 : PSG defeats Basel 3-0

PARIS, Oct. 19, 2016 (AMP) — Champions League 2016-17 : PSG defeated Basel by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a Champions League group stage game on Wednesday night at the Parc des Princes in Paris.

PSG dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Argentine midfielder Di Maria Angel in the 40th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, PSG players further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Lucas '62 and Cavani '90/penalty).

The result put PSG second in Group A with 7 points. Basel is third with one point. In their next game, PSG will meet third-placed Basel at the Parc des Princes on November 1, while Basel will face PSG.
