Champions League 2016-17 : PSG beats Basel 2-1

BASEL, Nov. 1, 2016 (AMP) — Champions League 2016-17 : PSG defeated Basel by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a Champions League group stage game on Tuesday night at St. Jakob-Park in Basel.

PSG dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by midfielder Blaise Matuidi in the 43rd minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, PSG players further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Meunier Thomas seconds before the end of regulation.

The result put PSG second in Group A with 10 points. Basel is third with one point. In their next game, PSG will meet group leaders Arsenal at St. Jakob-Park on November 23, while Basel will face Ludogorets Razgrad.
