Champions League 2016-17 : Benfica and Besiktas play out 1-1 draw

LISBON, Sep. 13, 2016 (AMP) — Champions League 2016-17 : Benfica tied 1-1 with Besiktas (halftime: 1-0), in a Champions League group stage game on Tuesday night at the Estádio da Luz in Lisbon.

Benfica players started off well by taking the lead thanks to Cervi Franco in the 12th minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by Besiktas with a saving goal from Brazilian midfielder Talisca Anderson in the 90th minute.

The result left both teams tied in the second place of Group B with one point. In their next game, Besiktas will meet Dynamo Kiev at the Estádio da Luz on September 28, while Benfica will face Napoli.
