BARCELONA, Oct. 19, 2016 (AMP) — Champions League 2016-17 : Barcelona defeated Manchester City by a big score of 4-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a Champions League group stage game on Wednesday night at the Camp Nou in Barcelona.

Lionel Messi scored tripple goals

Barcelona dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Argentine forward Lionel Messi in the 17th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, Barca further widened their lead in the second period by scoring three times (Messi '61, '69 and Neymar '89).

The result put Barcelona top of Group C with 9 points. Man City is second with 4 points. In their next game, Barcelona will meet second-placed Manchester City at the Camp Nou on November 1, while Manchester City will face Barcelona.
