Champions League 2016-17 : Atletico beats Rostov 2-1

MADRID, Nov. 1, 2016 (AMP) — Champions League 2016-17 : Atletico Madrid defeated Rostov by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-1), in a Champions League group stage game on Tuesday night at the Vicente Calderon Stadium in Madrid.

Antoine Griezmann scored dual goals

Atletico Madrid midfielder Antoine Griezmann opened the score in the 28th minute, before seeing Rostov catch up in the 30th minute thanks to Azmoun Serdar. 1-1 at half time. Los Colchoneros eventually won the game in the second period with with another goal by Griezmann in stoppage time.

The result put Atletico top of Group D with 12 points. Rostov is bottom with one point. In their next game, Atletico Madrid will meet third-placed PSV Eindhoven at the Vicente Calderon Stadium on November 23, while Rostov will face Bayern Munich.
