Champions League 2016-17 : Real Madrid beats Sporting 2-1

MADRID, Sep. 14, 2016 (AMP) — Champions League 2016-17 : Real Madrid defeated Sporting Lisbon by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 0-0), in a Champions League group stage game on Wednesday night at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in Madrid.

Both teams held off against each other during the first 45 minutes of the game. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with goals by Ronaldo ('89) and Morata ('90).

The result put Real Madrid second in Group F with 3 points. In their next game, Real Madrid will meet group leaders Borussia Dortmund at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium on September 27, while Sporting Lisbon will face Legia Warsaw.
