Atletico draws with Leicester to advance to Champions League semifinals
LEICESTER, Apr. 18, 2017 (AMP) — Champions League 2016-17 : Leicester tied 1-1 with Atletico Madrid (halftime: 0-1), in the second leg of a quarterfinals on Tuesday night at the King Power Stadium in Leicester.
Atletico Madrid players started off well by taking the lead thanks to Atletico Madrid midfielder Saúl Ñiguez in the 26th minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by Leicester with a saving goal from Leicester forward Jamie Vardy in the 61st minute.
