Champions League 2016-17 : Bayern Munich beats Arsenal 5-1

MUNICH, Feb. 15, 2017 (AMP) — Champions League 2016-17 : Bayern Munich defeated Arsenal by a big score of 5-1 (halftime: 1-1), in the first leg of a round of 16 game on Wednesday night at the Allianz Arena in Munich.

Thiago Alcántara scored dual goals

Bayern Munich forward Arjen Robben opened the score in the 11th minute, before seeing Arsenal catch up in the 30th minute thanks to Alexis Sánchez. 1-1 at half time. The Bavarians eventually won the game in the second period with four more goals by Lewandowski ('53), Alcántara ('56, '63) and Müller ('88).

The second leg between Bayern Munich and Arsenal will be played on Tuesday March 7, 2017 (kick-off: 20:45) in London.
