Champions League 2017-18 : Man Utd beats Basel 3-0

MANCHESTER, Sep. 12, 2017 (AMP) — Champions League 2017-18 : Manchester United defeated Basel by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a Champions League group stage game on Tuesday night at Old Trafford.

Manchester United dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Belgian midfielder Marouane Fellaini in the 35th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Red Devils further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Lukaku '53 and Rashford Marcus '84).

The result put Man Utd top of Group A with 3 points. In their next game, Manchester United will meet second-placed CSKA Moscow at Old Trafford on September 27, while Basel will face Benfica.
