Champions League 2017-18 : Basel beats CSKA Moscow 2-0

MOSCOW, Oct. 18, 2017 (AMP) — Champions League 2017-18 : Basel defeated CSKA Moscow by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a Champions League group stage game on Wednesday night at the VEB Arena in Moscow.

Basel dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Xhaka Taulant in the 29th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, FCB further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Oberlin Dimitri seconds before the end of regulation.

The result put Basel second in Group A with 6 points. CSKA Moscow is third with 3 points. In their next game, Basel will meet third-placed CSKA Moscow at the VEB Arena on October 31, while CSKA Moscow will face Basel.
