Champions League 2017-18 : CSKA Moscow beats Basel 2-1

BASEL, Oct. 31, 2017 (AMP) — Champions League 2017-18 : CSKA Moscow defeated Basel by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 0-1), in a Champions League group stage game on Tuesday night at St. Jakob-Park in Basel.

Basel had started off well by taking the lead in the 32nd minute with a goal by Zuffi. Trailing 1-0 at half time, the “Koni” nonetheless manage to reverse the direction of the game by scoring twice in the second period (Dzagoev '65 and Wernbloom '79).

The result put Basel second in Group A with 6 points. CSKA Moscow is third with 6 points. In their next game, Basel will meet group leaders Manchester United at St. Jakob-Park on November 22, while CSKA Moscow will face Benfica.
