ROME, Oct. 31, 2017 (AMP) — Champions League 2017-18 : AS Roma defeated Chelsea by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 2-0), in a Champions League group stage game on Tuesday night at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.
Stephan El Shaarawy scored dual goals
AS Roma dominated the first half thanks to goals from El Shaarawy Stephan ('1, '36). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Giallorossi further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Perotti in the 63rd minute.
The result put Roma top of Group C with 8 points. Chelsea is second with 7 points. In their next game, AS Roma will meet third-placed Atletico Madrid at the Stadio Olimpico on November 22, while Chelsea will face Qarabag.
