Champions League 2017-18 : Sporting and Juve play to a 1-1 draw

LISBON, Oct. 31, 2017 (AMP) — Champions League 2017-18 : Sporting Lisbon tied 1-1 with Juventus (halftime: 1-0), in a Champions League group stage game on Tuesday night at the Estádio José Alvalade in Lisbon.

Sporting Lisbon players started off well by taking the lead thanks to Cesar Bruno in the 20th minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by Juventus with a saving goal from Argentine forward Gonzalo Higuaín in the 79th minute.

The result put Juve second in Group D with 7 points. Sporting is third with 4 points. In their next game, Juventus will meet group leaders Barcelona at the Estádio José Alvalade on November 22, while Sporting Lisbon will face Olympiacos.
