CHAN 2016 Qualifiers : Mali defeats Mauritania 2-1
BAMAKO, Oct. 18, 2015 (AMP) — Rwanda 2016 (Qualifiers) : Mali defeated Mauritania by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 0-1), in the first leg of a CHAN qualifier tie on Sunday afternoon at the Stade du 26-Mars in Bamako.
Mauritania had started off well by taking the lead in the 8th minute with a goal by Denna on penalty. Trailing 1-0 at half time, the Malians nonetheless manage to reverse the direction of the game by scoring twice in the second period (Abeid '67 own and A. Diarra '90).
The second leg between Mali and Mauritania will be played on Saturday October 24, 2015 (kick-off: 17:00) in Nouakchott.
