Libya beats Congo-Brazzaville in shoot out to advance to CHAN semifinals
AGADIR, Jan. 28, 2018 (AMP) — Kenya 2018 : Libya reached the semifinals of the 2018 African Nations Championship after defeating Congo-Brazzaville 5-3 on penalties (after a 1-1 draw) on Sunday night at the Agadir Stadium.
The score was still 1-1 at the end of the regulation game time and overtime, after goals from Al Taher ('14) for Libya and Makiesse ('32) for Congo-Brazzaville. The Libyans finally emerged the victors in the penalty shootout session by winning 5-3.
