Nigeria beats Angola in extra time to advance to CHAN semifinals
TANGIER, Jan. 28, 2018 (AMP) — Kenya 2018 : Nigeria reached the semifinals of the 2018 African Nations Championship courtesy of a 2-1 extra time victory over Angola (following a 1-1 draw in regulation) on Sunday afternoon at the Ibn Batouta Stadium in Tangier.
The score was still 1-0 for Angola at the end of overtime, when an unexpected goal from Okpotu in the 92nd minute allowed Nigeria to equalize and just squeeze through to overtime. In the 109th minute, it was ultimately Okechukwu who brought the Super Eagles to victory by scoring the winning goal.
