Monaco beats Marseille in extra time to reach Coupe de France quarterfinals

MARSEILLE, Mar. 1, 2017 (AMP) — Coupe de France 2016-17 : Monaco qualified to the quarter-finals of the Coupe de France courtesy of a 4-3 extra time victory over Marseille (following a 2-2 draw in regulation) on Wednesday night at the Stade Vélodrome in Marseille.

The score was still 2-2 after the 90 minutes of regulation time, after goals from Yohann Pelé ('19 own goal) and Mbappé ('66) for Monaco and Dimitri Payet ('43) and Rémy Cabella ('84) for Marseille, and both teams had to wait for overtime to settle the issue. Monaco finally broke through with goals from Mendy ('104) and Lemar ('113), while Cabella ('111) scored for Marseille.
