Lille beats Bordeaux in shoot out to reach Coupe de la Ligue quarterfinals

LILLE, Dec. 17, 2014 (AMP) — Coupe de la Ligue 2014-15 : Lille qualified to the quarter-finals of the Coupe de la Ligue after defeating Bordeaux 6-5 on penalties (after a 1-1 draw) on Wednesday night at the Pierre Mauroy Stadium in Lille.

The score was still 1-1 at the end of the regulation game time and overtime, after goals from Mariano ('16) for Bordeaux and Michael Frey ('30) for Lille. Lille finally emerged the victors in the penalty shootout session by winning 6-5.
